(Pronounced two by two)
Unlike corporate video or educational video, television productions focus on larger audiences. Cable and satelite technology gave birth to a new nationwide production industry. For the first time television viewers were given more shows and stations to choose from. With all these new stations came the demand for new material. Today it seems like every industry, every person type and every (well you fill in the blank) has a show. The clamor continues for more! New ideas are always welcome at these stations.
An example of an original content show is Here Tomorrow. This is a show we co-produce with Survivability Concepts that offers practical guidance and training on how to survive in today's seemingly upside down world.
"Television has proved that people will look at anything rather than each other."
Now with higher speed internet connections a new and exciting concept has begun, web television. Web tv allows viewers to view what they want when they want and where they want. Many stations now offer web, on-the-air and/or cable programming.
Another web-based technology has begun to change the television world. This technology is simply called "streaming" allowing mulitple people to view (broadcasting) a live event or program. This technology is very different; namely requiring what is usually done in post-production to be done live like a newscast. If you require "streaming" let us know and we will connect you!

Generally speaking somewhere between a close up and medium or mid-shot. Often used for interviews providing more detail without getting too close.
Typical medium close-up shot begins mid-chest (No cosmetics? Zoom no further than medium close-up!)
Nothing loud about this one! This person positions the overhead microphone over the person(s) talking.
A boom microphone is a microphone attached to a long pole (called the boom). A boom operator often has to hold the boom for extended periods (need a tall and strong person).
Zooming in video (or photography) allows the image in a camera to appear either closer (zoom in) or further away (zoom out) without physically changing the location of the camera. This can be done either by "zoom" lenses or electronically (often called a digital zoom). A zoom effect can also be performed in post-production when resolution allows.
